The bq2014H NiCd/NiMH Gas Gauge IC is designed for battery pack or in-system installation to maintain an accurate record of available battery capacity. It monitors a voltage drop across a sense resistor to determine charge and discharge activity, compensating for temperature, self-discharge, and discharge rate to provide capacity information across various operating conditions. Battery capacity is automatically recalibrated during discharge cycles.
