The LTC4214 is a negative voltage Hot Swap™ controller that allows safe insertion and removal of boards from live backplanes. It controls negative supplies ranging from near zero to -16V. The LTC4214 features three stages of current limiting: a timed circuit breaker, active current limiting, and a fast feedforward path. It also has adjustable undervoltage and overvoltage detectors, a multifunction timer, and an adjustable soft-start circuit. The LTC4214 is available in the 10-pin MSOP package.
